Pep Guardiola’s side have been fined £24.9m and banned for ‘serious breaches’ of Financial Fair Play regulations.
The ban could have serious implications for the Manchester side, who’s star players such as Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero thrive off of huge competitions such as the Champions League.
This could be something that shakes up the the entirety of the football club with Pep Guardiola currently regarded as being the best coach in the world, he will surely leave at the end of the season in search of Champions League football.
This will also have a resounding effect on the Premier League too, as the leeagues current Champions won’t be able to fight for European Football, giving up another place to 5th position. This could open the door for the likes of Sheffield United and Wolves for Europe’s most prestigious competition.
With Manchester City being in constant breach of FFP Regulations over the last 10 years, calls of heavier sanctions have finally been answered but even this comes as a huge bombshell to European Football as they are one of Europe’s best teams.
